Minimalist Retinoid 2% Review

Image
Have been using this for almost 2 months now and here is my experience: I have sensitive, combination acne-prone skin, and I have a fair complexion so even slight irritation is very evident on my skin. I use this once a week, and I don't use any other active a day before and after it (sometimes I leave more days in the between). Hasn't irritated my skin and never got a 'purge' with it. Although, sometimes, I do get a breakout or two the next day, but nothing severe (dies out pretty quickly), and I expect that with a vit-A product. I also use glyco-6 and Minimalist SA once a week (on separate days). But I have been using these two ingredients for way longer, so I know that these recent changes in my skin are due to this Retinoid. My skin has become more even-toned, smoother, radiant and healthier with this. Even Glyco-6 couldn't get rid of my bumpy acne texture but this did. My skin looks like it has light layer of a BB cream on it, so I barely feel like wearing ma...

La Shield & IPCA UV Gel Sunscreen review

Image
I bought these sunscreens almost a month ago. La sheild sunscreen- I bought the spf 40 variant believing it to be of gel texture. That's my mistake but my skin didn't mind it's texture and it didn't break me out. Apart from that, the sunscreen smells like fair and lovely. I absolutely HATE the fragrance of this sunscreen. Also, the texture is VERY creamy and very heavy. I'm lucky it didn't break me out. The sunscreen pills around the eye area and if you sweat, the sunscreen goes in the eye and makes them water. Also, it does leave a white cast if you use sufficient amount. I use 3 finger rule and my skin looks a little white for like for like 5 minutes. I'm very fair and even then I have to really work the sunscreen for it to leave my skin less white. Idk if it made sense. But I wouldn't recommend this sunscreen for people with deeper skin tone. WNRP. Acne uv sunscreen- I lurked around this sub a lot and found some rave reviews for this sunscreen. I bo...

Muji Mild Cleansing Oil Review

Concerns: Skin texture/ Sebaceous filaments My thoughts on the product: My main agenda of using a cleansing oil was to remove the remnants of sebaceous filaments from my nose. These suckers make my nose area seem extremely textured, rough, and basically like Satan's butthole. The first time I double cleansed using this oil and touched my nose, I couldn't believe it. It was soft and actually felt human. I didn't experience any breakouts or irritations and my skin felt softer and sort of glowy (this might be my overactive imagination). It seemed like an instant HG for this factor but I am keeping my options open for now. Because it's winter, I skipped the oil cleansing part for a few days (laziness tbh) and my face actually felt different- more unclean and rough. This is such a no-frills product whose absence I terribly felt only when I eliminated it from my routine. The texture of the oil is runny which makes it hard to control but my oily skin loves it because of how ...

Isntree HA aqua gel cream review

Image
Bought isntree aqua gel cream for 1299 in beauty barn Quick review about isntree HA aqua gel. It’s been 3 weeks since I bought this tube and never thought this would give glass skin for me . I have used quite a lot of actives but none has given this glow and brightness so far. So couldn’t stop reviewing about it. First impression: it’s gel based slightly watery consistency but when applied in face it gives a moisture finish and my skin gets shiny and glowy. It gets absorbed into the skin quickly, non sticky. My review : Initially thought this might not suit me as I have oily combination skin but the next day my skin looks bright and my dark circles are lightened as if it’s magic. I feel there is a great difference in my skin after I started using this. Understood that HA is one of the important hydration step that we need to add in our routine. WRP in future. Must buy for people who has multiple actives in their skin routine. This will hydrate the skin to a greater extent.

[REVIEW] BEAUTY OF JOSEON Essence Water

Image
  • Product: BEAUTY OF JOSEON Essence Water. 150ml of product. • Purchased from: BeautyBarn • My skin type: Oily-combo acne-prone dehydrated skin • Climatic conditions the product was tested in: hot and humid during summers, cold and humid during winters • Routine at the time of using the product: Used it at the toner step, immediately after cleansing • Age range: 20s • Usage timeline: Give or take, about one year •   Ingredient list • Texture: amber coloured. watery and light. • Fragrance: nothing significant, the ginseng scent is negligible. • PROS: • lightweight • can be used all year round • hydrating enough for my skin type • quite moisturizing for my oily skin. was able to walk out without any follow-up serum or moisturizer on the hot sunny days • soothing - the panthenol in it helped with the calming effects. could also easily use it post chemical exfoliation • added benefits of the 2% niacinamide • did not break me out • CONS: • not as easily absorbed on my skin. signi...
